Choosing The Right Private Jet Charter Service

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

As you may have experienced, vacations can be great or vacations may be awful. It all depends of every little choice you make to make a travel come true. One of these choices is deciding which private jet charter service is the best.

You have to keep in mind some things when choosing a private jet charter service. There are some good services for private jets out there but that may not be what you were looking for. For example: Do you need a butler for the plane? Do you need a Jacuzzi? Is the flight long enough to take advantage of the features your private jet charter service delivers?

First you have to make a contact list of private jet charter services available for you. Once you have that list you’ll need to talk to each and every one of them, if possible in person, so they can give you an in depth look at what their private jet charter services brings. Then you’ll have to look for features that you won’t want, and using this method, uncheck form the list some of those private jet charter services.

By now you should have a narrower list of service providers, this is good because it means every company in your list is better qualified to bring you a better vacation. The next thing to look for is price. You have to assume that all these type of private jet charter services are priced high, but sometimes is just too much and it is not worth paying all that much with your hard earned money. Look for a reasonable price and for things they may be charging you but you don’t want (a butler for example)

The last thing, but the most important is a subtle one. It is about the human factor. A private jet charter service is not all about the features and private jets, it is about people too. People that can make your travel a better one if they are kind and want to bring the best service to you. Try to know the people, the drive of the company. Ask them what makes them a better private jet carter service than the competition. Don’t be afraid to ask those questions, because at the end those question will be critical to the success of your travel.

Those were the tips for choosing a private jet charter service. But remember this all happens in the air, so when you land is all about you! Have the vacations you’ve always dreamed of! Make that business meeting a great opportunity for your company! A private jet service, will make sure your travel won’t be a stressful one.

ALASKA SPORT FISHING GUIDE

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

WHAT TO FISH AND WHERE: Alaska offers some of the most diverse and incredible fishing
opportunities in the world. You can drop a line into a roadside river and catch a nice size rainbow trout. Or charter a boat and reel in one of Alaska’s giant Pacific halibut. You also can treat yourself with a freshly caught shellfish- shrimp, crab, clam. There are almost 400 fish species in Alaska’s fresh and salt waters including all five species of Pacific Salmon: King (chinook), Silver (coho), Red (sockeye), Chum (dog, keta), Pink (humpy). It is not uncommon to catch a 50-pound King salmon, the Alaska record was set by a fish weighing 97 pounds. Arctic greyling, sheefish and northern pike are easy to find in many inland streams. Diverse Alaska geographic areas offer adventure for everyone, give us various choices:
Interior Alaska. From mountains and rolling hills , river valleys covered with forests to the vast spaces of treeless tundra at higher altitudes and in the far north. Temperaure varies greatly throughout the year, from -50 Celsius (-58 Fahrenheit) in the winter months to +30 Celsius (+86 Fahrenheit) during summers. There are just a few highways in the interior part of Alaska. Most of the area can only be reached by plane, boat or by foot. Almost every settlement has a good all weather airport served daily by small commercial air carriers. Summer is warm but short, it is the best time for fishing in the land of the midnight sun. Pacific salmon enter the Yukon River in early June and move almost 2,400 km (1,500miles) up the river. They spawn along the way, provide best fishing in June and July for king salmon, and in August and September for silver salmon. Chum salmon can be caught throughout summer and fall. Catch sheefish in July and August, especially in the Kobuk River. Best fishing season for lake trout and arctic char is May and early June. Ice fishing fans can take pleasure in good fishing for trout and burbot.
Southeast (the narrow and long part between the Pacific ocean and Canada). Consists of mainland and many treed mountainous islands along the coast. Inland waterways are well sheltered from the Pacific ocean. The main fishing trophies are all the five species of Pacific salmon and the Pacific halibut. Rainbow, cutthroat, brook and steelhead trout are easy to catch in some inland streams. We can add arctic grayling and Dolly Varden to the list. On the coast crab and lingcod are available.
South and Southwest (to the south and west of the Yukon river). Mountainous inland with many rivers and lakes, ragged coastal line dotted with numerous islands. The region offers the widest variety of saltwater fishing and inland fishing in the state. The Bristol Bay area is well known for outstanding rainbow trout fishing. Lake trout and northern pike are abundant in some lakes in the area. Arctic grayling, burbot, arctic char and Dolly Varden can be found in some waters. June and July yield the best fishing results for Pacific salmon. You can catch Pacific halibut in Gulf of Alaska and some inlets. Razor clams are best to dig from April to September, especially on the Kenai Peninsula.

FISHING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- An Alaska sport fishing license is required for all nonresidents 16 and over, and most residents from 16 to 59 (see below), to fish in all Alaskan fresh and salt waters. It is valid for a calendar year.
- Sport fishing licenses and king salmon stamps may be purchased from a license vendor (most sporting goods stores), by mail from the ADF&G Licensing Section, P.O. Box 25525, Juneau, AK 99802-5525, (907) 465-2376, or online. Licenses, stamps, and tags are non-refundable.
- A sport fishing license permits you to take or attempt to take any finfish or shellfish in fresh or salt waters, except anadromous (sea-run) king salmon, for which you must also have a current year’s king salmon stamp. In order for the stamp to be valid, anglers must sign their name, in ink, across the face of the king salmon stamp and stick the stamp onto the back of their current year’s sport fishing license.
WEATHER: On the whole Alaskan summers are cool, the average temperature is +14 deg.C (58 F) in summer and -12 deg.C (11 F) in winter but it can vary greatly between different regions of the state. Winters are cold and dark. Early spring can be cold, but often days warm to above freezing with a lot of sunshine. It receives midnight sunshine during the part of summer and goes into 24-hour darkness during the part of winter. Summers are the wettest time of the year, south regions are well known for their dampness. You can check next week weather forecast for Anchorage here.
GETTING THERE: There are direct or one-stop flights to Anchorage from many major US cities. Most of the Alaskan interior and coast are accessible by Alaska Aircraft Charters, Bush Pilots, Air Taxis. Many small villages and towns have all weather airports served daily.
ACCOMODATION AND GETTING AROUND: You can rent a hotel in Anchorage . Remote areas have a vast number of Fishing Lodges and Camps with fishing guides and necesary equipment. For those who prefer to fish offshore there are Alaska Saltwater Fishing Charters .
TRAVEL TIPS: Northern weather can be unpredictable. Consider taking with you and wearing multiple layers of clothes in response to a wide variety of temperatures and weather conditions. Marine weather conditions can change in minutes and a once calm sea can become a nightmare of an ordeal. Coastal waters this far north are also very cold and there is little hope for survival if your boat goes down in rough seas and you don’t have the proper survival suits. It is always wise to consult the current conditions and predicted forecast for the area you will be boating in. Obtain detailed maps of the area beforehand. Do not forget to pack first-aid and survival kits as well as bear repellents.

Medical Insurance Plans for Students: What Do You Have to Understand?

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Something that is commonly toward the bottom of the list of priorities when budgeting for an education is medical insurance for college students. Students are in the mindset where health insurance is not the first thing they think about. Teens imagine they will be alive forever and of course they can not find themselves suffering from a serious illness.

As we all know, no matter how well an individual might seem, this is no guarantee of their future health. Reasonable health insurance isn’t only for the rich, it’s an absolute necessity.

Those students fortunate to be covered by a parent’s policy are more often than not included up to they’re twenty-three. For anyone who doesn’t currently have insurance coverage under a parent’s insurance, an important part in planning for college will be obtaining inexpensive medical insurance.

What is fundamental in an insurance plan for students? What is your deductible? This is a yearly payment which has to be made before any medical benefits start kicking in, much like an auto insurance plan. To illustrate, should the deductible be five hundred dollars, you must to pay that amount before receiving financial benefits from your plan.

What exactly does co-pay entail? Once you have paid the deductible, most policies require you to contribute a portion of the bill for every trip to the physician, medication or procedure. That, put simply, is a co-pay. What should your insurance cover? Many policies are HMO and Partnership for Prescription Assistance. This may mean particular specialists might be excluded from your “network” or not be included on your insurance policy. Most policies will provide a directory of participating professionals, be sure to take this into consideration when you are choosing a policy. What is catastrophic health insurance coverage? Restrictions are frequent in medical insurance policies for college students as far as terminal illness, in almost all student policies, it’s ordinarily significantly less than any standard insurance plan. Restrictions: Limits are very standard in student health insurance. Study your policy to discover what your policy covers.

Have any health insurance documents safe everywhere you travel. It is not only impossible to plan for accidents or an illness, but they are unfortunately likely to occur when not anticipated. Make sure to be au fait with your insurance plan, whether you are included with your parent’s plan or with your own insurance.

Fund Raising Ideas

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Once I read a quote “Fundraising is the gentle art of teaching the joy of giving”. It’s a quote by Hank Rosso and the one that really had a continuing and a lasting effect on me. There is something special about facilitating the connection between what you receive from others with what you give to others. In fact I think in a broad way of thinking this is something that you can relate to everything you do in life.

Fundraising does take significant energy and effort but this gives satisfaction if you believe that you make a life by what you give. Since fund raising is being practiced for decades one must have observed many ways to generate funds.

As fundraising often involves the donation of money as an out-right gift, money may also be generated by selling a product of some kind.

Another means could be the donating an in-kind gift that is donation of goods to an organization rather than cash.

Also it’s a common practice to endow some percentage of sales amounts to charitable foundation by promoting the product accompanied by statements that a proportion of proceeds will be directed to a particular foundation.

Another in the list of fundraising ideas is online fundraising. A number of charities and non-profit organizations are increasing using the internet as a means to raise funds.

Colleges and universities have significant role in fund raising programs. Arranging some sort of sports activity for this cause is practiced most in institutions.

Israel Train Travel Tips

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The Israeli railroads infrastructure has been upgraded significantly in the past 10 years. While until 1996 most of trains & railroads were bizarre collections of British “leftovers” from the mandatory occupation that lasted until 1948, nowadays Israeli trains can take you almost anywhere in Israel and (almost) right on time.

Most of the train stations have been rebuilt, and the train cars themselves are made by top-of-the-line European train-car manufacturers. The ride itself is usually very smooth and comfortable and most on the trains do make it right on time (which is very rare, generally speaking in the middle east and Israel).

While prices and service are only fair, there are some important tips to remember when traveling Israel by train: some are trivial for every train rider while some are unique to Israel.

Try to avoid taking the train on Sunday – while most of the Israeli soldiers are using the trains as their preferred (and free) means of transportation, and are using them to return from their vacations you will find it literally impossible to find a free seat on the Sunday trains. Some of them are so packed that they do remind of third world country trains (by the way – in some aspects Israel is a third world country..) . Whatever you do try not to use Israeli trains on Sunday and if so – do it after rush hours and not before 15:00.

Bring your own food & drink – While there are no restaurant train cars on any of the lines, there are attendees who carry small trolleys with hot drinks, soft drinks, sandwiches and snacks. The only problem is that prices are extremely high, you might find yourself paying way too much for food and drink which you can buy at the train station for literally half the price.

Hotspot wireless internet – is available only in the main stations in Tel-Aviv, and the service is highly priced (by the hour or per day). If you want to catch up with your email – download them before boarding to the train, there is no wireless connection on the trains themselves.

Double deck trains – some of the trains have tow levels, it is very easy to recognize them – they are all painted in red. If you see one of these (they are fairly popular on the busy Tel-Aviv – Haifa lines) – try to get to the penthouse  the view is much better and there is much more sunlight.

Don’t miss the ride to Jerusalem by train! - it is slow, not efficient, has very low frequency, and the central train station in Jerusalem is next to “Malcha Mall” in the far end of the city, but after saying that: this is the most interesting train line in Israel which was re-opened only last year (2005). If you want to see Israel diverse landscape – don’t miss this ride.

To sum things up – Israel train is lots of fun, especially if you are a tourist and not in a hurry to anywhere, you will find this means of transportation as comfortable and efficient. Don’t hesitate to use it whenever you can, especially if you are on a budget.

Travel to Romantic Asian Locations

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Asia is one the more visually stunning areas in the world. If you are looking for romance, here are some top-notch destinations.

Asia is hot and sticky, much like romance. More importantly, it tends to be fairly cheap due to a currency disaster in the late 1990s. Although luxury resorts can be very pricey, you can find a romantic location for just about any budget.

If cost is of no concern, the Banyan Tree Resorts should definitely be on the top of your list. With resorts in Thailand, Indonesia, China, Japan, Maldives and Seychelles, the Banyan Tree resorts are the lap of romantic luxury. Each resort is a bit different and prices vary wildly depending on location since the currency in Japan is much stronger than the Thai currency.

Cheju Island off of Korea is a little known, but spectacular romantic destination. Cheju is very similar in appearance to the Hawaiian Islands, complete with a dead volcano. Spring is by far the best time to visit Cheju, but keep in mind Korean honeymooners are in plentiful supply. As to budget, you can get rooms at luxury resorts or camp on the Island. Every level of comfort between these extremes is also available.

China is a huge country with a lot to see. If you’re looking for a rustic, romantic travel destination in China, the place to go is Suzhou. Imagine Venice, Italy being plopped down in China and you have Suzhou. The city is rife with canals and roughly fifty percent of it is underwater. Once considered the capital of the Silk Road out of China, the city is over 25,000 years old. Perched on the edge of a lake, it is simply spectacular and undoubtedly one of the most romantic areas in Asia.

If all else fails, you can never go wrong with Bora Bora in Tahiti. Comprised of volcanic mounts much like Hawaii, Bora Bora is known as the romantic island of Tahiti. The name is appropriate. The island is all about pristine white beaches, crystal clear water and friendly people. One can hike up the old volcano to get an incredible view in the morning and head out to the reefs for a little diving in the afternoon. Lodging can be a bit pricey on Bora Bora, but it is definitely worth it.

You can’t go wrong with any of the above destinations if your looking for romance in asia.

HSBC Sells off Canary Wharf Offices

Friday, April 24th, 2009

The major bank, HSBC, intends to raise funds of three billion Euros by selling off three of their largest commercial premises. The three buildings include their London headquarters in Canary Wharf, some offices in New York and a building in the Champs Elysées. Desk hire is another option for them rather than buying more property under the current conditions.

The decision was made a few days after a huge rights issue was approved worth an enormous £12.5 billion. The sale process is to be supervised by the real estate organization, CB Richard Ellis with some help for Jones Lang LaSalle. HSBC intends to trade and lease back the properties concerned for a minimum of ten years.

HSBC is surviving the global economic crisis quite well and avoided the need for government aid. With the solution to the rights issue, the banking group is now one of the strongest in its industry and is continuing to prepare for any possible future acquisitions.

In a relatively good position to take advantage of the new opportunities, HSBC plans to sell a number of its assets that have lost their values during the economic slump.

HSBC’s Canary Wharf headquarters were bought only a few months after the bank purchased the premises from Metrovacesa, a failing Spanish property firm that was hit hard during the economic crisis. The profit made by the bank as a result of this sale was around £300 million.

The HSBC Tower is a 100,000 square meter premises and was sold by the bank in the middle of 2007 during the heights of the real estate boom in a £1.1 billion sale and leaseback deal. Unfortunately, for Metrovacesa, the deal proved rather too ambitious and HSBC ended up buying it back for £800 million.

In spite of the powerful financial position of HSBC, there are still concerns regarding its Household division in which keeping up the $100 billion loan portfolio to the US housing market will not be easy. Investors in the bank are also still anxious regarding the bank’s traded debt securities.

Gimme Prospect’s of Succeeding on the European Lottery and Does Anyone Stand a True Chance of Winning the Jack-pot

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

The chances of scooping the Euromillions jackpot is a distant 1 : seventy six million but the chances of acquiring a cash prize is a somewhat decent 1 : 24. If the jack-pot is not won in a given lotto draw, it is carried over to the next week that will result in an ever increasing jackpot value. Recent rules brought in on the 09 February 2007 limit the amount of successive roll-overs to eleven, with the jackpot rolling out to lower prize levels on the 11th lotto draw if the prize is not won.

The Euro millions lotto or the Euro lotto, as it is usually recognized, pools the lottery ticket revenues of the 9 partaking Euro countries showing a gigantic European Lottery jackpot. With the quantity of countries joining the EU on the increase, this will without question will lead to new states participating in the Euro lottery. A growth in the number of people partaking in the Euro Lottery will result in a continuing growth of the already gigantic European Lottery jackpots.

The recent regulations also initiated EuroMillions Super Draw which go on twice yearly plus they offer jack-pots in the region of 100 million pounds. The difference with Super-Draws is that the jackpot has to be collected during the calendar week of the draw; this means, when there is no lottery ticket corresponding, all the drawn numbers then the top prize will then be distributed to the ticket holder(s) on the succeeding winning prize level.

Each player must select 5 main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 9. During the EUROMILLIONS draw five main and 2 lucky star numbers are then chosen at random from two draw machines containing numbered lotto balls.

Find Great Deals Using Plastic

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

If you’re in business you may already have one or two credit cards. Business credit cards are useful for spreading the costs of things like travel, and you can also benefit from lower interest rates. If you’re going to be away from home on a business trip it’s worth paying for your flights and accommodation by credit card, especially if they offer incentives like airline mileage points or cashback.

Regular business trips can mean spending a lot of time away from home, and the incentive schemes do at least offer you something by way of compensation. If you don’t already have a card why not shop around for one that suits your requirements? If you find you’re spending more and more time away from home it’s definitely worth thinking about.

Now whether you’re going on a business trip or vacation it’s always a good idea to look out for travel deals which can save you a lot of money on anything from airfares to car hire and hotels. Next time you’re booking a domestic or international flight why not see if you can get a discount on your fares? And even better, if you have an airline mileage card you’ll get points for every dollar spent on fares too. Once you’ve saved up enough points you can exchange them for free airline tickets, and that means your next vacation could end up costing you practically nothing.
